Preparing for Your Digital Radiology Examination in the Eastern Townships

Mammography

The day of the exam, do not put powder, cream, perfume or deodorant on your breasts or armpits.

If you have sensitive breasts, avoid coffee, tea, chocolate and cola for two weeks before the mammography.

Take two Tylenol® one hour before the mammography.
At the time of appointment, be sure to have:

The original request signed by your MD and/or the letter from the PQDCS.

Your valid RAMQ card.

The images on CD and copies of previous examination reports.
Bone Densitometry
-
Do not take any calcium supplement for 48 hours before the exam.

You should not have undergone an examination in nuclear medicine or barium examination with dye (barium) in the previous 10 days before the exam.
At the time of appointment, be sure to have:

Your valid RAMQ card.
Abdominal or Gallbladder Ultrasound
You must fast from midnight the night before the exam.
At the time of appointment, be sure to have:

The means of payment (cash, credit, debit) for the ultrasound.
Pelvic Ultrasound
Drink 24 ounces of water (3 large glasses) 1 hour before the exam. Do not go to the bathroom before the exam; your bladder needs to be full.
At the time of appointment, be sure to have:

General Radiography
No preparation is necessary and you do not need to make an appointment.
